Rockland Audubon Certified Bird Sanctuary Application
We encourage the use and planting of native plants as food sources because they provide birds and other wildlife with the basic foods they need to survive and promote biodiversity. Your garden needs to provide at least one item from each of the following categories to be considered for certification: food, water, and a nesting area. Please avoid synthetic chemical pesticide use in your landscape and also consider removing non-native plants.
If you have any trouble determining what plant species you have on your property and whether they’re native and bird-friendly. We can arrange a visit to your property and help you identify your species.
Along with your application, make a small tax-deductible donation ($15 is suggested) to RAS and we’ll deliver you the sign below to put in your yard. Donations help us cover the cost of the signs. Our signs also spread the word about our certified gardens and invites others to add habitat to their properties as well. To make a donation, mail a check to: Rockland Audubon Society, P.O.
